WNAM REPORT: The number of tourists visiting Kyrgyzstan in 2024 increased by 80 thousand people compared to 2023, which confirms the growth of tourist flow to the republic.
The Tourism Support Development Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic classifies as tourists those who cross the border of the Kyrgyz Republic for the purpose of “tourism”, “private trip” and “business trip”.
According to the border service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, 8 million 625 thousand 86 people visited our republic in 2024, which is 80317 more than in 2023, when the number of tourists was 8 million 544 thousand 769 people. These figures refer to people who arrived in the above three categories.
The largest share of tourists comes from Uzbekistan (61.7%), Kazakhstan (28.3%) and Russia (5.6%). Together, these three countries account for the vast majority of foreign tourist flow to the Kyrgyz Republic.
In addition, tourists come to Kyrgyzstan from China, Turkey, India, Germany, Pakistan, South Korea, the USA, as well as from France, Great Britain, the UAE, Malaysia, Belarus and other countries.
Statistics by quarters show that the largest number of visitors was recorded in the third quarter of 2024 (July, August and September), when more than 2.8 million people arrived in the country. The second largest was the second quarter with 2.3 million tourists.
In the first quarter of 2024, there was a flow of up to 1.6 million people, which corresponds to seasonal fluctuations in tourist activity.
This growth in tourist flow indicates the continuing development of the tourist attractiveness of the Kyrgyz Republic, which maintains its status as a popular tourist destination.
