ICCI, RISE Sign MoU to Promote Industry-Academia Collaboration

ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and the Riphah Institute of Systems Engineering (RISE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation between academia and industry, promoting research and innovation, and enhancing opportunities for students and the business community.
The MoU was signed by President ICCI, Sardar Tahir Mehmood, and Director RISE, Prof. Dr. Naveed Ikram, at a ceremony held at the Chamber House. Prof. Dr. Saad Zafar  and  Obaid ur Rehman   from RISE side were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sardar Tahir Mehmood said that closer collaboration between educational institutions and the business sector is vital for preparing youth according to the modern requirements of industry and technology. He said ICCI is committed to supporting initiatives that encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, research, and skill development among students and young professionals.
He added that the partnership with RISE would help bridge the gap between academia and industry by facilitating knowledge sharing, joint research projects, internships, training programs, seminars, and technology-driven initiatives. He emphasized that Pakistan’s economic progress depends on equipping the youth with advanced technical and professional skills.
Prof. Dr. Naveed Ikram appreciated ICCI’s efforts in promoting academia-industry linkages and said that the MoU would open new avenues of cooperation for students, researchers, and entrepreneurs. He said RISE is committed to producing skilled graduates capable of meeting the evolving demands of the local and international markets.
Senior Vice President ICCI Tahir Ayub, Executive Member Raja Naveed Satti, Zulqurnain Abbasi, Dr. Mohammad Usman, Convener ICCI Software Development Committee, Vice President Ashfaq Hussain Chattha, and ICCI members  Asad Zaman, Saad Aman, and Israr Mashwani were also present at the occasion.
