TEHRAN: The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman voiced concern over the escalated border tension between Azerbaijan and Armenia, noting that t is necessary to speed up the conclusion of a peace agreement between the two countries.
In reaction to the border conflict between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, which has resulted in the death and injury of several people, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Nasser Kan’ani, called on both sides to exercise restraint and maintain peace.
The spokesman expressing concern over the recent increase in tension and conflicts on the border between the two countries, calling for a peaceful solution to the disputes and emphasized that sustainable peace in the region can only be achieved through dialogue and diplomacy. “In line with that goal, it is necessary to speed up the conclusion of the peace agreement between the two countries.”
Four Armenian soldiers were killed and another was wounded in new clashes at the shared border between the two neighbors early on Tuesday.
