TEHRAN: Uzbekistan’s delegation participated in the 17th Tehran International Exhibition of Tourism and Related Industries “TITE-2024”.
The delegation from Uzbekistan included Umid Shadiyev, Chairman of the Committee on Tourism of Uzbekistan, Botirjon Shakhriyorov, Deputy Hokim of the Bukhara Region, and Ambassador Fariddin Nasriyev.
During the opening ceremony, Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), acknowledged the successful hosting of the 25th session of the organization’s General Assembly in Samarkand from October 16-20, 2023.
Throughout the exhibition, participants and guests had the opportunity to explore Uzbekistan’s rich tourism potential, including the historical monuments in ancient cities such as Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. They also learned about the favorable conditions created for tourists.
It was highlighted that in recent years, Uzbekistan has witnessed a surge in tourist arrivals. New tourist destinations have been developed, catering to travelers year-round and considering Uzbekistan’s diverse climatic conditions. Moreover, the country has invested in new hotel complexes and other infrastructure facilities.
