FARAH(WNAM Monitoring): A water dam construction project in Balablok district, Farah province, was successfully completed on Thursday. Costing six million Afghanis, the dam was built with the support of the United Nations Development Programme in collaboration with the Islamic Relief Organization and the Farah Agriculture and Irrigation Department.
Eng. Abdul Ahad Hamidi, an official from the Farah Agriculture and Irrigation Department, explained that the purpose of this irrigation dam is to store rainwater and floodwaters for agricultural use while also serving as a protective measure against potential flood-related agricultural damage. The dam has the capacity to store thousands of cubic meters of water.
