Jakarta: Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi has assured that the 2045 Digital Indonesia Vision (VID) for digital development pursued by the current government will be continued by the next government.
The 2045 VID, which was launched by the Communication and Informatics Ministry in 2023, is a vision and strategy for the digital field for all stakeholders, which needs to be pursued till 2045.
“We have carried out calculations for the road map. Everything is running with the spirit of inclusivity and sustainability,” he said in Depok, West Java, on Thursday.
He further informed that under the 2045 VID, the next government will continue the development of four pillars, namely digital infrastructure, digital government, digital economy, and digital community.
The development of the four pillars will be carried out in parallel so that digitalization can be achieved optimally in Indonesia and support the nation’s goal of becoming a developed country.
“This (digitalization) is a necessity. Development must include digital infrastructure, digital government, digital economy, and digital community,” he stressed.
The 2045 VID is a long-term plan for the digital field to promote the interests of stakeholders with a sectoral and regional perspective.
One of the targets of the 2045 VID is pushing Indonesia to become the fifth-strongest economy in the world.
The VID has been designed by paying attention to development priorities in various strategic documents in the digital field and involves three main approaches, namely ecosystem, sectoral, and regional.
As the initiator of the preparation of the 2045 VID, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics is pursuing synergies with more than 50 institutions to align digital development planning for the next 20 years.
