WNAM MONITORING: Head of the V World Nomad Games Organization Directorate Nail Nurov unveiled the amount of the funds Kazakhstan will spend on organization of the event.
“The Games’ operational budget is 5.7 billion tenge,” he said reminding that in 2011 Kazakhstan spent 20 times more money on the organization of VII Winter Asian Games.
“The budget of the 2017 Winter University Games in Almaty was five times higher. Given that financial partners and sponsors will also contribute to the Games, the overall operational budget will make around 8 billion tenge,” said Nurov.
Nail Nurov also touched upon the issue of reconstruction of sports facilities.
According to him, as part of preparations for the Games, Astana received a new Kazanat hippodrome, with a longer and wider race track. A laboratory for diagnostics and rehabilitation of horses will also open here. Astana’s legendary Alau Ice Palace and Astana Arena football stadium are under renovation.
As reported before, 200 Kazakhstani athletes are set to compete in the V World Nomad Games scheduled for September 8-13.
