WNAM MONITORING: As many as 17,769 flights were carried out from Azerbaijan to 38 foreign countries in the first eight months of 2024.
The obtained data represents an increase of 6 countries (18.7%) and 2,546 flights (20.4%) compared to the same period in 2023.
During this period, 5,134 flights were carried out from Azerbaijan to Russia, marking a 12.9% increase year-on-year (YoY).
Over the course of eight months, after Russia, the most flights conducted from Azerbaijan were to Türkiye, with 4,004 flights, which is 5.5% more than the previous year.
The United Arab Emirates entered the top three destinations with 2,034 flights, showing an increase of 31% YoY.
Other notable destinations include Georgia with 1,353 flights (33.1% more), Saudi Arabia with 617 flights (4.6% less), Kazakhstan with 557 flights (5.8% less), India with 435 flights (5.6 times more), Qatar with 399 flights (64.1% more), Kuwait with 297 flights (24.7% more), and Uzbekistan with 287 flights (33.5% less).
In August alone, the number of flights from Azerbaijan was 2,841, which is a 12.6% increase. Specifically, 792 flights were carried out to Russia, reflecting a 21.1% increase from August 2023.
