( WNAM MONITORING): The ECO-UNIDO Clean Energy Center was launched on November 15 in Baku as part of COP29. Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, speaking at the ceremony, expressed confidence that the center would contribute to strengthening the region’s energy security, combating climate change, and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“This initiative has strategic importance. It will further strengthen Azerbaijan’s cooperation with our partners and support our efforts in renewable energy. Our goal is to develop sustainable energy and renewable energy sources,” said Shahbazov.
He emphasized that Azerbaijan is actively cooperating with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries to implement green corridor projects.
“Azerbaijan is committed to cooperating with other countries in developing a low-carbon economy. We hope that this center will support our green energy initiatives and strengthen our cooperation,” he said.
Shahbazov stated that through this center, research will be conducted in the region, including on climate change.
