Jakarta ( WNAM MONITORING): Indonesia’s Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar has requested Saudi Arabian Hajj and Umrah Minister Tawfiq F. Al Rabiah to build a hadith museum at Istiqlal Mosque, just like the one in Medina.
“Minister (Al Rabiah) asked if there is space to build it. I said, ‘Of course, there is,'” Umar said in a statement released on Tuesday.
Umar met with Al Rabiah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, to discuss the preparations for next year’s Hajj pilgrimage.
According to Umar, the two ministers share similar views on the need to raise the dignity of Muslims, not only in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, but also the Islamic world.
“In the near future, God willing, he will make more approaches, possibly for us to open a hadith museum in Istiqlal,” he informed.
In addition to Mecca, Minister Umar will make a working visit to Medina.
He arrived in Jeddah on November 23, 2024. During the visit, Minister Umar led a coordination meeting with the Hajj Affairs Office to discuss preparations for organizing the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
He also visited the new guest office, which is currently under renovation. The new guest house is slated to be ready by the end of December this year.
