WNAM REPORT: Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received today President of the National Olympic Committee Gennady Golovkin. The Head of State was informed about the work of the NOC and the plans for the near future. Golovkin reported to the President about the measures launched together with the Ministry of Tourism and Sport to improve the country’s sports infrastructure, athletes’ training, and to raise the country’s authority at the international arena.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the NOC is set today a number of serious tasks such as to promote and enhance Olympic sports. The President emphasized the importance of improving the athletes’ results at the international competitions.
The Head of State congratulated Gennady Golovkin on his appointment as the Chair of the World Boxing’s Olympic Commission.
On November 5, the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation officially became a full-fledged member of the World Boxing.
