WNAM REPORT: Relations between Uzbekistan and China are actively developing in many strategic directions, including in agriculture. The use of China’s advanced technologies, the introduction of innovative approaches to land management, and the achievement of high efficiency are among the priorities of bilateral cooperation.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Alisher Shukurov met with a delegation led by the Director General of China Siwei Surveying and Mapping Technology, Mr. Zhang Xiaodong. The parties considered new possibilities for using remote sensing technologies for land resources in agriculture.
The main goal is to develop bilateral cooperation and discuss practical issues as part of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy.
During the conversation, Zhang Xiaodong spoke in detail about the capabilities of Chinese high and ultra-high-precision remote sensing satellites, practical solutions for various fields, and technical training programs. The parties also discussed cooperation areas on the use of Earth remote sensing technologies to solve problems in agriculture effectively.
Issues of monitoring acreage, assessing their yield, water resources management, and the possibility of predicting emergency situations were also considered.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached on expanding the use of these technologies in the agricultural sector, organizing technical training programs, and accelerating the launch of innovative projects.
