LAHORE( WNAM REPORT):Azerbaijan Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Khizr Farhadov called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, here on Tuesday.
Matters related to enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations were discussed in detail, with a focus on promoting trade, cultural exchanges, and collaboration across various sectors.
CM Maryam Nawaz expressed her commitment to strengthening cultural and educational ties while also exploring new avenues for trade and investment, particularly in agriculture, health, education, and energy.
During the meeting, the CM briefed the Ambassador on ongoing development projects and public welfare initiatives, which were warmly acknowledged by Ambassador Farhadov. He praised the leadership of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, noting her role in continuing the public service agenda of her predecessors, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
CM Maryam Nawaz highlighted the importance of Azerbaijan’s recent presidential visit to Pakistan and emphasized the strong, brotherly relations between the two countries. She also underscored the potential to strengthen cooperation in tourism, with the hope of learning from Azerbaijan’s expertise in the sector. The CM invited Azerbaijani investors to Punjab, promising a special package of incentives to encourage investment.
Ambassador Farhadov expressed his country’s interest in exploring investment opportunities in Punjab and reiterated Azerbaijan’s close and friendly ties with Pakistan.
He also extended an invitation for Maryam Nawaz Sharif to visit Azerbaijan, an invitation she accepted with gratitude.
