WNAM MONITORING: During a telephone conversation on February 21, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin discussed current issues related to further developing and strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Russia within the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.
The discussion covered the outcomes of the practical implementation of agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Russia to Uzbekistan in May last year, in accordance with the roadmap approved by both leaders.
The productive contacts and exchanges taking place at various levels were highly praised. Special attention was given to ensuring the continued growth of key indicators in trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as supporting industrial cooperation projects in the regions of both countries.
The expanding humanitarian interaction was noted with great satisfaction, particularly in culture, arts, science, and education, including training engineering personnel, healthcare, and sports.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia also exchanged views on international issues and discussed the schedule of the upcoming events.
