Tashkent ( WNAM MONITORING ): Uzbekistan’s national air carrier, Uzbekistan Airways, officially commissioned its fourth LET L-410 turboprop aircraft to strengthen regional air connectivity under the Silk Avia brand.

Following successful acceptance procedures at the manufacturer’s plant and a series of test flights, the aircraft flew from Kunovice, Czech Republic, to Tashkent with refueling stops along the way.

Currently, three LET L-410 aircraft are already operating regular Silk Avia flights on the following routes:

Nukus – Muynak – Nukus

Tashkent – Shakhrisabz – Tashkent

Tashkent – Zaamin – Tashkent

Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, stated: “The introduction of the fourth LET L-410 is a significant milestone in the development of regional aviation in Uzbekistan. These aircraft have proven their reliability and efficiency, enhancing transport accessibility for remote regions. We aim to further expand our route network and make air travel more convenient and accessible for the country’s residents.”

Key Advantages of the LET L-410:

Short takeoff and landing capabilities (as little as 500 meters), including on unpaved runways

Resistant to extreme temperatures, ranging from -50°C to +50°C

High maneuverability and safety, proven through years of operational use

Technical Specifications of the L-410 UVP-E20:

Type: Twin-engine turboprop aircraft

Seating capacity: 19 passengers (convertible for cargo operations)

Cruising speed: 405 km/h

Flight range: 1,500 km

Service ceiling: 4,200 m

Navigation equipment: Advanced Garmin GPS systems and TCAS (collision avoidance)

Once all necessary procedures are completed, the fourth LET L-410 will begin operating scheduled routes within the Silk Avia network.

Uzbekistan Airways continues to modernize its fleet, placing strong emphasis on developing regional air travel in line with international safety and comfort standards.
