RAWALPINDI ( WNAM REPORT ): An important meeting was held to improve the security system within private housing societies chaired by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Aamir Khattak. Important issues related to security, environmental concerns and approval for private housing societies in the region were discussed in the meeting held at RDA. Meeting was attended by Director General RDA Kinza Murtaza, CPO Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani, other concerned government officers and representatives of 59 housing schemes.
Commissioner Rawalpindi said that the government is concerned about security arrangements which require thorough investigation. Particularly to ensure that no Afghan citizen, criminals or terrorists become part of security teams in these societies. He emphasized that a detailed scrutiny is necessary for this purpose. Strict legal action will be taken in case of failure to its implementation. Commissioner Rawalpindi directed DG RDA to ensure strict implementation of these instructions. DG RDA Kinza Murtaza highlighted the growing incidents of land occupation, saying that if a housing society’s private security guards were found involved in illegal activities, RDA and law enforcement agencies should be informed about it.
CPO Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani said that no security lapse will be tolerated. He directed that all housing schemes should submit a detailed report of their security arrangements by this evening. Representatives of the housing societies assured full cooperation at the meeting and expressed their commitment to improve the quality of security. Representatives of 59 Housing Societies attended the meeting, including Bahria Town, University Town, Mumtaz City, Taj Residency, Gandhara City, Kohistan Enclave Taxila, Multi-Professional Cooperative Housing Scheme, Capital Valley, Silver City, Top City. Finally, DGRDA Kinza Murtaza urged all citizens, property developers, and owners of the Housing Society to ensure compliance of the rules and seek the necessary approval to avoid any legal proceedings.
