WNAM MONITORING: Turkmenistan is exploring opportunities to expand natural gas transit through Iranian territory as part of its efforts to diversify energy exports, Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov said during the 18th meeting of the Turkmen-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation held in Tehran.
According to official Turkmen media, Meredov also expressed Ashgabat’s interest in attracting Iranian investments for petrochemical projects, noting that such cooperation could help optimize the country’s gas resource utilization.
On the sidelines of the forum, Meredov held a series of bilateral meetings during which the parties discussed a wide range of issues aimed at strengthening bilateral partnerships in trade, energy, and transport.
