ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ) A solemn ceremony was organized by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad to mark the 36th death anniversary of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Ruhollah Khomeini (RA). The event was attended by a large number of distinguished Pakistani political, religious, academic, and cultural figures, who paid rich tribute to the great leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Addressing the gathering, H.E. Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, said that Imam Khomeini’s multifaceted personality continues to serve as a role model for the Islamic world. He emphasized that Islamic movements across the globe have been inspired by Imam Khomeini’s thoughts and vision. He cited the ongoing resistance in Palestine against oppression as a living example of the influence of Imam Khomeini’s ideology.
Dr. Amiri Moghaddam further added that Imam Khomeini’s deep understanding of Islamic history and revolutionary movements enabled him to foresee future challenges and developments with great clarity. He noted that the Iranian nation, guided by the wisdom and vision of Imam Khomeini, continues to move forward on the path of progress and development.
The event was also addressed by prominent Pakistani leaders including Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi (Head of Shiite Community in Pakistan), former Federal Minister Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Siraj-ul-Haq, Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, former Federal Minister Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, Ms. Samia Raheel Qazi, Dr. Aqila Khatoon, and Dr. Syed Nasir Shirazi.
The ceremony concluded with the launch of a new book authored by Dr. Aqila Khatoon, which presents a comparative study of the thoughts and philosophies of Imam Khomeini and Allama Iqbal.
