WNAM REPORT: In response to a question regarding the “K.V. Mediterranean Tours Limited v. Türkiye” Judgment of the European Court of Human Rights, the spokesperson of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Öncü Keçeli delivered the following statement:
“The judgment of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in the case of “K.V. Mediterranean Tours Limited v. Türkiye”, announced on 10 June 2025, will be examined in detail in all its elements. Nevertheless, it is important that the determination of the authorities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to effectively continue the work of the Immovable Property Commission has once again been reaffirmed.
We consider this latest judgment a timely response to the politically motivated arrests carried out by the Greek Cypriot Administration against the TRNC and third-country nationals engaged in legal activities under the TRNC’s property regime which has been repeatedly upheld by the ECtHR. Furthermore, this judgment stands as a lesson in the face of ongoing efforts to spread fear and intimidation, undermine the economic welfare of the Turkish Cypriot people, and disregard international law.
We share and support the views expressed in the statements made by the TRNC authorities on this issue.
