ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ):  A high-level delegation from the United Business Group (UBG) visited the Gurdwara Janam Asthan Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Nankana Sahib. The purpose of the visit was to promote interfaith harmony, religious tolerance, and a message of respect and solidarity with minorities in Pakistan.

The UBG delegation received a warm welcome from the President of the Guru Nanak Ji Sewak Jatha and the Coordinator for the Ministry of Human Rights and Minority Affairs, Sardar Palvinder Singh, who provided a detailed briefing on the historical, religious, and cultural significance of the Gurdwara.

On this occasion, meaningful discussions were held on key topics such as Sikh-Muslim relations, religious rights of minorities, and social harmony. UBG Patron-in-Chief S.M. Tanveer stated that minorities in Pakistan are constitutionally and practically guaranteed complete religious freedom. He emphasized that the business community should foster not only economic growth but also promote social and religious harmony. Visits like these are important steps in that direction.

UBG Secretary General Zafar Bakhtawari shared his views, noting that Sikhs and Muslims share a common spiritual heritage for centuries. The teachings of Baba Farid Shakar Ganj (RA) and Guru Nanak Dev Ji still echo the message of humanity, tolerance, and mutual love. The inclusion of Baba Farid’s poetry in the Guru Granth Sahib is living proof of this spiritual connection.

Sardar Palvinder Singh appreciated the arrival of the UBG delegation, stating that when a representative business group visits the religious sites of minorities and conveys a message of unity, peace, and brotherhood, it strengthens Pakistan’s positive image. He further shared that the Ministry of Human Rights and Minority Affairs is actively promoting interfaith harmony throughout the country.

President of the Nankana Chamber of Commerce, Sardar Mian Nadeem, also addressed the gathering, saying that the land of Nankana Sahib is not only sacred to the Sikh community but also symbolizes peace, tolerance, and spirituality for people of all faiths. He appreciated the UBG delegation’s visit as evidence of the business community’s serious commitment to minority rights, religious respect, and harmony. He expressed hope that such efforts would continue and grow stronger.

The visit concluded with prayers and expressions of love, peace, and unity.

The UBG delegation included FPCCI Vice President Zaki Ijaz, Kasur Chamber President Kashif Khokhar, former President of Rahim Yar Khan Chamber Abdul Rauf Mukhtar, Malik Manzoor,Tariq Mehmood, Umar Saleem, Asif Bilal, Rana Jahangir, Talagang Chamber President Malik Shabbir, former President of Islamabad Small Traders and Small Industries Malik Nadeem Akhtar, Vice Chairman of the All Pakistan Mine Owners Association Raja Naveed Akhtar Satti, former Executive Member of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce Imtiaz Abbasi, and other prominent business and social personalities.

The Sikh community highly appreciated UBG’s positive initiative, calling it a significant step toward promoting religious harmony, tolerance, and mutual respect
