ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): Under the Clean and Green Islamabad Movement, a tree plantation and cleanliness drive, along with an awareness walk, was organized at F-10 Markaz, Islamabad. On this occasion, Chairman of the Clean and Green Islamabad Movement, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, formally launched the tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling along with Chairman of F-10 Markaz Traders Welfare Association, Tahir Abbasi, President Ahmad Khan, General Secretary Naeem Iqbal, and other office bearers.
During the campaign, dustbins were also installed in the market to further improve cleanliness arrangements. Speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari said that this Independence Day demands that we all take practical steps to make our country greener, cleaner, and more beautiful. I appeal to every Pakistani to plant at least one tree this Independence Day and to support the government in keeping Islamabad and the entire country clean, he added.
He emphasized that tree plantation is not only essential for environmental protection but also a means of providing a better environment for future generations. The Chairman stated that the purpose of the Clean and Green Islamabad Movement is not only to plant trees but also to raise public awareness about cleanliness and environmental protection. It is our collective responsibility to keep our surroundings clean, dispose of garbage properly, and reduce the use of plastic, he stressed.
Chairman of F-10 Markaz Traders Welfare Association, Tahir Abbasi, said that they would fully cooperate with the Clean and Green Movement to make their market a model market of Islamabad. President Ahmad Khan stated that cleanliness and plantation are not just the government’s responsibility but a duty of every citizen, and the business community will remain at the forefront of this mission. General Secretary Naeem Iqbal appealed to all citizens to keep their surroundings clean and actively participate in planting more trees.
The participants of the walk expressed their resolve to continue tree plantation and cleanliness efforts in Islamabad on a permanent basis.
