WNAM REPOERT: A new border control system based on artificial intelligence has been put into operation at Dubai International Airport. The “AI corridor” allows passengers to undergo verification without presenting a passport and boarding pass – a face scan is enough, writes vc.ru .
The system requires pre-registration of biometric data. The technology is currently only available in Terminal 3 for passengers with access to the first class and business lounges.
The control procedure takes 14 seconds. The corridor can simultaneously serve up to ten passengers. In case of suspicion, the system automatically sends notifications to border service employees for additional checks.
The main goal of introducing the new technology is to increase the airport’s capacity. In the future, it is planned to completely free passengers from the need to wait in lines and use paper documents.
