Deputy PM highlights Halal industry as new growth driver

WNAM MONITORING: Vietnam views the development of the Halal industry as a vital new direction to foster fresh growth drivers, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said during the opening of the Global Halal Summit 2025 in Kuala Lumpur.

He was accompanying National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his spouse during their attendance at the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) and official visit to Malaysia.

During these meetings, Deputy PM Ha said Vietnam is working to expand the Halal industry by speeding up certification agreements, boosting investment in sectors like agriculture, tourism, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics, supporting Halal certification for local products to join global supply chains, providing training and technical assistance, and promoting Vietnamese goods and services in the global Halal market.
