Promotion of educational, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges between China-Pakistan need of the hour: Ambassador  Jiang Zedong

Islamabad ( WNAM REPORT ): In connection with the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, a dignified ceremony was held at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, Islamabad, under the auspices of the Pak-China Friendship Association.

Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly  Babar Saleem Swati, Provincial Minister for Revenue  Nazir Abbasi, Ambassador of China to Pakistan Jiang Zedong, and President of the Pak-China Friendship Association  Yousaf Ayub Khan participated in the event. A cake-cutting ceremony was also held on the occasion.

In his address, President of the Pak-China Friendship Association Yousaf Ayub Khan said that the friendship between Pakistan and China is an everlasting bond that continues to grow stronger at the public level. He termed the “Sister City Program” between Peshawar and Urumqi as a shining example of promoting people-to-people ties.

Chinese Ambassador  Jiang Zedong, in his speech, said that the relations between Pakistan and China have deepened and strengthened with the passage of time. He stressed that promoting educational, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges is the need of the hour so that this friendship can be passed on to future generations. The ambassador further said that China is offering a large number of scholarships to Pakistani students so they can benefit from opportunities for modern education and research.

He also emphasized ensuring the security of Chinese experts and workers engaged in ongoing CPEC projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so that the projects can be completed successfully and on time. The Chinese Ambassador informed that China’s economy has reached 140 trillion dollars this year, which is the result of the relentless hard work of the Chinese people. He added that economic ties between Pakistan and China will expand even further in the future.

Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati, in his remarks, said that Pak-China relations are a guarantee of peace and development in the region. He said that China’s development model is an excellent example for Pakistan, from which we can learn and take better steps for the welfare of our people.
