WNAM REPORT: The Pakistan Hotels Association (PHA) successfully held its 61st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Karachi Marriott Hotel. The meeting was attended by a large number of members, office bearers, and executive committee representatives, both in person and via Zoom.
The session was chaired by Mr. Shakir Abu Bakar Bhura, Chairman PHA, along with Barrister Mansoor Ali Shah, Vice Chairman (South), and Mr. Raza Abbas, Executive Committee Member.
The agenda included confirmation of the previous AGM minutes, presentation of the Chairman’s Report for the year 2024–25, approval of the audited accounts, appointment of auditors for the year 2026, and consideration of amendments to the Association’s Memorandum and Articles of Association in compliance with recent regulatory requirements.
Members unanimously approved the Audited Accounts for the year ending June 30, 2025, and confirmed the reappointment of M/s. Sajid & Co., Chartered Accountants as auditors for the financial year 2026.
The General Body also discussed and unanimously adopted the proposed amendments to the Association’s Memorandum and Articles of Association in line with the DGTO Circular of May 2, 2025, requiring alignment with the Trade Organizations Act, 2013, Trade Organizations Rules, 2013, and SRO 525(1)/2016 issued by the Ministry of Commerce.
In his address, Chairman Shakir Bhura welcomed members and expressed appreciation for their active participation. He also highlighted PHA’s continued efforts to promote and protect the interests of Pakistan’s hospitality sector, strengthen industry standards, and work closely with stakeholders and government bodies on policy matters.
The meeting concluded with a formal vote of thanks to the Chairman, and appreciation for the support and hospitality extended by the management of Karachi Marriott Hotel.
