WNAM REPORT: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) and Yunus Emre Institute Pakistan, following the directives of their respective governments have announced the celebration of “Pakistan–Türkiye Friendship Week” from October 30 to November 5.
As part of these celebrations, an international conference will be held on October 30 to highlight the deep historical, cultural and academic ties between the two brotherly nations.
A photo exhibition showcasing Türkiye’s culture and civilization will also be organized at the university, highlighting the country’s art, heritage and modern development. In addition a traditional archery competition will be held among students to pay tribute to Türkiye’s ancient sporting traditions.
These events have been comprehensively planned by the Directorate of International Collaboration and Exchange and the Directorate of Students Advisory and Counseling Services in collaboration with Türkiye’s Yunus Emre Institute, under the special guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood.
According to Director Yunus Emre Institute Prof. Dr. Halil Toker, the purpose of these celebrations is to further strengthen the academic, cultural, and historical relations between the two brotherly countries, Pakistan and Türkiye.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood stated that these events will provide students with an opportunity to learn closely about Türkiye’s history, art, culture and social values while also creating new avenues to promote academic cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye.
