The Johannesburg summit will feature three main sessions aimed at addressing mounting global challenges across sectors.
The first session will focus on sustainable economic growth, including the role of trade and finance in development and the debt burdens of developing nations.
The second session will examine resilience, covering disaster management, climate change, a just energy transition, and global food systems.
The final session will address decent work and the governance of artificial intelligence, as well as critical minerals — a central Indonesian priority given the country’s strategic resources.
Indonesia has long promoted stronger global cooperation on mineral value chains and aims to expand discussions on equitable partnerships at the summit.
Gibran’s visit marks his highest-level multilateral engagement since assuming office, reinforcing Indonesia’s intent to remain an influential voice in international forums.
