WNAM REPORT: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Zurich, Switzerland, on Wednesday ahead of the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, where he is scheduled to deliver a special address on Thursday.
The president landed at Zurich International Airport on the Garuda Indonesia-1 flight on Wednesday afternoon, with temperatures below freezing.
Prabowo was accompanied by his son, Didit Hediprasetyo. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya was also on the flight.
Indonesian officials welcoming the president at the airport included Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland Ngurah Swajaya and Indonesia’s defence attaché to France and Switzerland, Air Commodore Hendra Gunawan.
From the airport, Prabowo proceeded to his hotel, where he was greeted by several Indonesian ministers, Indonesia’s Permanent Representative in Geneva Sidharto Suryodipuro, staff of the Indonesian Permanent Mission, and members of the Indonesian diaspora in Switzerland.
Prabowo is scheduled to deliver his special address at the 2026 WEF Annual Meeting on Thursday at 2 p.m. local time. He will share the stage with WEF President and CEO Børge Brende.
World leaders who have delivered remarks at this year’s forum include French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, and United States President Donald Trump.
The World Economic Forum, founded in 1971, is an international organization that brings together global leaders, policymakers, business executives, academics, and civil society representatives to discuss global economic challenges and future trends.
This year’s WEF Annual Meeting is being held from January 19 to 23.
