ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ):President of Anjuman Tajiran G-8 Markaz, Ajab Khan, has expressed concern over the restrictions and reduced business hours in the federal capital, Islamabad. He stated that this step will not only affect business activities but will also have negative impacts on the economy. He urged that, like other provinces, business hours in Islamabad should be extended at least until 9 PM.
He further said that limiting business hours under the pretext of energy conservation is not a permanent solution; rather, a comprehensive policy is needed to support both the economy and businesses. He added that business conditions are already under pressure, and reducing working hours will further aggravate traders’ problems.
He noted that operating within limited hours will decrease customer flow, leading to reduced sales and causing serious financial difficulties, especially for small traders. He demanded that the government review this decision and develop a mutually agreed strategy in consultation with the business community.
