iSLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): President of G-8 Markaz and the Islamabad Motor Dealers Association, Ajab Khan, has said that the automobile industry plays a vital role in Pakistan’s economy and employment. However, heavy fees imposed on the buying, selling, registration, and transfer of vehicles, along with various taxes, have become major obstacles to the sector’s growth.
He stated that the continuous increase in vehicle transfer fees, withholding tax, registration charges, and other government levies has created serious difficulties not only for ordinary consumers but also for automobile dealers. He urged the government to review these fees and taxes to make the process of buying, selling, and transferring vehicles easier and more transparent.
Ajab Khan further called on the federal and provincial governments to formulate business-friendly policies in consultation with representatives of the automobile sector. He emphasized that reducing unnecessary financial burdens on the industry would help promote business activity, encourage investment, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
