Tashkent: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyuev inspected specialized boarding school in Andijan.
The educational institution was built last year at the expense of the state budget for 50 billion UZS. It is designed for 504 places and specializes in in-depth study of exact and natural sciences from grades 5 to 11. Students from all cities and districts of the region are accepted competitively.
The boarding school has over 60 educational and computer classes, foreign language classrooms, and laboratories. There is also a 222-bed dormitory, a canteen, and a gym equipped with the latest technology.
The President spoke with teachers here. The importance of linking high school programs with higher education institutions programs, devoting more time to practical classes, and avoiding repetition and cramming in lessons was noted. The need to create a new atmosphere of education, upbringing, and spirituality in schools was emphasized.
In addition, the Head of state visited the Universal Sports Complex, which is under construction in Andijan.
An indoor hall for four thousand spectators has been built, where championships in several sports can be held. In particular, some matches of the Futsal World Cup will be held here this fall.
The large sports complex will also have a swimming pool, a café and a restaurant. Conditions will be created for schools of excellence for famous athletes. The training program will be carried out in cooperation with sports federations and higher education institutions.
The need for efficient operation of the complex and the introduction of modern management was noted.
