Saudi Crown Prince, Turkish President discuss regional security, Red Sea attacks

RIYADH ( WNAM MONITORING): Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a telephone call on Monday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss relations and the latest developments in the region, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the call, the two leaders reviewed ties between Saudi Arabia and Turkiye and explored ways to strengthen cooperation across a number of fields, SPA added.

They also discussed regional developments amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and the security situation in the Red Sea.

President Erdogan reaffirmed Turkiye’s condemnation of attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi militia on ships in the Red Sea and expressed his country’s full support for Saudi Arabia.

The Turkish leader also welcomed the establishment of the multinational maritime defense coalition led by the Kingdom, expressing hope that it would succeed in protecting international shipping and achieving its objectives.
