TEHRAN: Figures by the statistics agency of the European Union, known as Eurostat, show that the export of Iran’s pistachio to EU countries has surged past €92 million in 2023.
Eurostat figures suggested that Iranian pistachio exports to EU states had decreased by 17% YOY in value and reached €92 million in 2023 from €111 million in 2022.
The source added that Germany, Italy, and Spain had accounted for a bulk of pistachio purchases from Iran in 2023.
Following the US, Iran and Turkey have been the second and third largest exporters of pistachios to Europe respectively in the mentioned period, it noted.
