Tashkent: On Friday, a trilateral meeting of delegations of the governments of Uzbekistan, China and Kyrgyzstan took place in the city of Kashgar of the People’s Republic of China.
This meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akilbek Japarov, member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the CPC Central Committee of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Ma Xingrui.
As noted, the People’s Republic of China and the Kyrgyz Republic are important economic partners of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The volume of trade between Uzbekistan and China and Kyrgyzstan is growing steadily from year to year.
Together with Chinese and Kyrgyz partners, significant projects are being implemented in the transport and logistics, energy, industrial, agricultural and other sectors of the economy.
It was noted that the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway line, proposed to be built within the framework of the One Belt, One Road initiative, is the shortest alternative road connecting the Central Asian region with China.
The idea of creating a joint venture for the construction and operation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway line was supported.
The Uzbek side called on China to join efforts to create favorable conditions for the development of multimodal transport through the territory of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
It was also decided to take appropriate steps to further improve the activities of the Irkeshtom checkpoint, create favorable conditions and expand transit opportunities.
At the meeting, the parties noted the importance of starting practical work this year on the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway line.
At the end of the trilateral negotiations, the heads of delegations got acquainted with the work of the Ulugchat customs terminal and the Irkeshtom checkpoint.
In general, during the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to China, detailed information was presented on the activities of the Kashgar Economic and Technological Development Zone, and bilateral meetings were held with the heads of a number of leading companies.
