WNAM MONITORING: A tourist train following the Great Silk Road route crossed the border with Turkmenistan at the Farab checkpoint and arrived in Ashgabat.
39 tourists from 9 countries, including Russia, Italy, Great Britain and others, went on an exciting journey. The train began its route in Kazakhstan, after which it proceeded through the cities of Uzbekistan. Until April 10, tourists will get acquainted with the ancient history, rich culture and original traditions of Turkmenistan.
Stops are planned in the cities of Mary, Ashgabat, Dashoguz. Tourists will also visit the Ichoguz railway station, where they will be able to get acquainted with the unique natural attractions of the country, including the “Gates of Hell” – a crater with burning natural gas, writes Asman news with reference to the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
In Ashgabat, the program will begin with a visit to the largest mosque in Central Asia, Turkmenbashy Ruhy. Then tourists will visit the State Circus, where they will see a performance by the world-famous equestrian group “Galkynysh”.
Also in the plans are a tour of the Independence Monument, the Neutrality Monument, the “10 Years of Independence” Park, the “Bagt Koshgi” Wedding Palace and the Carpet Museum.
After Ashgabat, the train will proceed to Ichoguz, and the journey through Turkmenistan will end in Dashoguz, from where tourists will head back to Uzbekistan.
