(WNAM monitoring): The first luxury train, the Orient Silk Road Express, carried foreign tourists through the historical cities of Uzbekistan and arrived in Tashkent, the Uzbekistan Railways reported.

To develop international tourism, the company plans to launch about 14 charter tourist trains this year in cooperation with the German company Lernidee Erlebnisreisen and the English company Golden Eagle Luxury Trains. The charter trains will serve tourists from Austria, England, Germany, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Ireland, Spain, Canada, Luxembourg, Malaysia, the United States, France and Switzerland.
