ISLAMABAD(WNAM REPORT ): Governor KPK Faisal Karim Kundi has said that political stability is urgent necessity for the economic prosperity and development of the country and that only way forward is a ‘charter of prosperity’ by taking out of the box decision for the wellbeing of the masses.
He said this while addressing an award distribution ceremony held in honour of the business community leaders in recognition of their outstanding achievements in promotion of businesses especially in KPK and Islamabad held at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday evening.
Highlighting the contribution of business community in the development of country Governor KPK said that the government has to facilitate business community and the agriculturists by providing cheaper electricity to both the sectors for overcoming the existing economic crisis.
He asserted that by exploiting the tourism potential of KPK and Gilgit Baltistan, we can earn sufficient foreign exchange and for the purpose we have to encourage and facilitate the business community. He added that the doors of the Governor House are opened for the business community especially for the ICCI to jointly formulate an action plan to attract foreign tourists by developing tourism sites of the province.
He also assured his fully cooperation for the development of an Industrial State at any of the connecting point of the two provinces.
Addressing the ceremony Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that in every society the business community is considered as the backbone of the economy and Pakistan’s business community is also playing an important role in the development of its economy and creating employments for its youth.
He termed the political stability as basic necessity for the economic stability by asserting Government’s business friendly policies and across Pakistan level playing field to achieve the much needed goal.
He said that Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry is also working tirelessly for the attainment of this objective by playing the role of a bridge between the government and the business community for ease of doing business. He added that business community fully favors the widening of tax net and opposes the tax evasion but seeks basic facilities for its businesses.
By mentioning the ICCI initiatives for the promotion of country’s tourism and exports he sought the assistance of Governor KPK for the provision of a suitable piece of land for an industrial estate for the cause.
Commending the vibrant role being played by Faisal Karim Kundi as Governor KPK, Secretary General United Business Group Zafar Bakhtawari said that the business community of Islamabad considers Mr. Kundi as its Governor also and that it is confident that the relevant quarters will be acquainted about its problems for their quick resolution.
He said that certain powers are hell bent to keep Pakistan’s economy in Intensive Care Unit by remote control but we, through our collaborative efforts have to put it on road to progress and prosperity.
He also promoted the idea of taking diplomats of friendly countries to Governor House Peshawar for showcasing the tourism potential of Swat and adjacent areas.
Senior Vice President ICCI Faad Waheed demanded that business community should be given representation in all the relevant departments throughout Pakistan to help resolve its problems and getting a smooth sail for the betterment of the country.
Vice President ICCI Engr. Azhar ul Islam Zafar said that if the business community is given due facilities, it can turn the tide for country’s progress.
Executive member Amir Hamza highlighted the successes of the ICCI under the leadership of its President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari.
On this occasion 42 business leaders of Islamabad and KPK were graced with prestigious awards.
A large number of people belonging to business community attended the ceremony.
