Minister of Transport of Tajikistan Azim Ibrokhim emphasized that the country has significant potential for the development of electric transport. Thanks to the production of environmentally friendly and inexpensive electricity, the use of electric vehicles in the republic is not only effective, but also a cost-effective solution. In addition, this will reduce Tajikistan’s dependence on fuel imports.
To implement an ambitious program for the development of electric transport, it will be necessary to invest 228 million 916 thousand somoni. The bulk of funding will come from the private sector. An integrated approach to solving this problem includes not only the production of electric vehicles, but also the development of battery recycling technologies, as well as the creation of a system of benefits and incentives for electric vehicle owners.
