WNAM REPORT: Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) remarked that his government has made notable progress in digitization, citing the successful establishment of INA Digital, the government’s integrated service platform.
In his State of the Nation Address in Jakarta on Friday, Jokowi emphasized that INA Digital is designed to accelerate and facilitate public services.
Regarding digital connectivity, he underscored that his administration has provided internet access to 79 percent of the country’s population.
Jokowi highlighted the government’s successful efforts to evenly distribute electricity to the entire country, noting that national power coverage had hit 99 percent this year.
“These achievements will pave the way for an ecosystem supporting the digitization of micro, small, and medium enterprises, and the growth of domestic startups, ultimately fostering more high-quality young entrepreneurs,” he stated.
Jokowi stressed the government’s push for state institutions and enterprises to prioritize procuring goods and services from domestic businesses.
“This support is rooted in the government’s determination to ensure that what comes from the people brings maximum benefit to the people,” he remarked.
On the occasion, he also delivered performance reports on state institutions and presented the 2025 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) and related financial notes.
Jokowi made these remarks at the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Representatives Council (DPD).
The sessions are held every August 16, a day before Indonesia celebrates Independence Day.
