WNAM MONITORING: A groundbreaking initiative to green the Middle Corridor will be put forward at the upcoming COP29, said Janar Bagasharova, Head of Program Development at Singapore-based Global DTC Pte Ltd, a company specializing in transportation and logistics, during the Black Sea-Caspian Logistics Forum 2024 held in Baku.
Bagasharova emphasized that the initiative aims to enhance the sustainability of the Middle Corridor, with a focus on reducing carbon footprint and assessing the reduction of carbon emissions. The ultimate goal is to present the Middle Corridor as an environmentally friendly trade route.
Bagasharova highlighted the importance of integration among the countries along the route, particularly Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. One significant achievement has been the implementation of the Tez Customs digital platform in collaboration with KTZ Express, which has allowed Kazakhstan to move out of the gray zone and increase transparency at the Chinese border.
The Middle Corridor, also known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, is a multimodal trade route connecting China to Europe via Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye.
