WNAM REPORT: Uzbekistan and China’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $8.01 billion in the period from January through August 2024, as reported.
The data obtained from the country’s Statistics Agency shows that this is 3.2 percent less compared to the same period in 2023, when the trade turnover amounted to $8.28 billion.
China has surpassed all other Uzbekistan’s biggest trading partners in terms of trade turnover over the specified timeframe.
The volume of Uzbekistan’s exports to China amounted to $1.3 billion, which is 30.7 percent less compared to last year ($1.7 billion from January through August 2023).
Furthermore, Uzbekistan’s imports from China reached $6.6 billion from January through August 2024. This figure increased by 1.5 percent compared to the same period last year ($6.5 billion from January through August 2023).
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $42.7 billion from January through August 2024. This indicator increased by 6.7 percent compared to the same period last year ($40 billion in January-August 2023).
In general, Uzbekistan’s exports from January through August 2024 reached $17.3 billion, while imports amounted to $25.3 billion.
