Jakarta (WNAM MONITORING): Indonesia’s Hajj Fund Management Agency (BPKH) Head, Fadlul Imansyah, held a bilateral meeting with Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Bin Abdullah H. Amodi, to discuss broader investment cooperation in the Hajj and Umrah sectors.
The meeting, which took place at the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Jakarta on Monday, resulted in several important agreements.
“This investment cooperation is strategic for both countries. We appreciate the full support from the Saudi Arabian Government,” Imansyah noted.
He highlighted that one of the important matters discussed at the meeting was the plan to accelerate the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between BPKH and the Saudi Arabian government.
This cooperation will be carried out through a Government-to-Government (G to G) scheme and is expected to provide a strong legal certainty for the development of various investment projects in the Hajj and Umrah sectors between both countries, he stated.
“We are optimistic that this MoU will soon be realized. This will be a new milestone in bilateral relations between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia,” Imansyah remarked.
Based on his data, nearly three million Indonesian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims have visited the Holy Land.
According to Imansyah, this large number shows a promising market potential for both countries.
“We hope this investment cooperation can improve the quality of service for Indonesian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, as well as provide a positive contribution to the economies of both countries,” he noted.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Amodi echoed Saudi Arabia’s strong commitment to welcoming Indonesia’s investment, especially from BPKH in his country.
He affirmed that this investment opportunity is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between both nations in the economic and religious fields.
He also expressed support for BPKH’s investment plan, which aligns with Saudi Arabia’s 2030 vision.
