GUJRANWALA ( WNAM REPORT): Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan H.E. Mr. Y. Kistafin, accompanied by the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Lahore, Rao Khalid Mustafa Khan, undertook a two-day working trip to Gujranwala , the third most important industrial center of the country, as well as Gujrat, a hub for the production of furniture, fans and ceramics.
H.E. Mr. Y. Kistafin visited the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry, which has more than 10000 members representing 34 industrial sectors, the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce & Industry, which unites more than 11000 business entities, as well as the new format exhibition center “Gujranwala Business Centre”, which hosts 120 companies and promoting the activities of 21000 industrial enterprises of the city.
During the meetings with entrepreneurs, the Ambassador spoke about the business climate, investment projects in Kazakhstan, as well as promising areas for mutually beneficial cooperation. H.E. Mr. Y.Kistafin also informed about the ongoing consistent work to increase bilateral trade and create favorable conditions, both at the level of government and business communities in order to unlock the existing potential. Special attention was paid to the issues of establishing contacts at the level of regional chambers of commerce and industry.
The effective functioning of trade corridors connecting Kazakhstan and Pakistan, as well as the active participation of the leading transport and logistics companies, NLC and TCS, in diversifying trade turnover between the countries were separately noted.
The management of Gujranwala Business Centre presented a wide range of samples of household appliances, cutlery, chemicals and detergents, textiles and clothing, food, building materials, plumbing products and other products manufactured by enterprises of the city.
The Ambassador toured a number of industrial facilities, familiarized himself with the production process and manufacturing technologies of furniture, plumbing, fittings, fans, air purifiers and ceramic products.
In general, the businessmen expressed deep interest in developing cooperation with Kazakhstan, noting the significant potential available.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached to organize a visit of Pakistani businessmen to Kazakhstan in 2025 to study the business climate and expand cooperation.
