ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT):  Chairman of the Clean and Green Islamabad Movement, Member of the Central Core Committee UBG (FPCCI), and former President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, paid fines amounting to Rs. 430,000 to secure the release of six prisoners from Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, on the occasion of International Human Rights Day. During his special visit to Adiala Jail yesterday, he met with Superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum and facilitated the release of six individuals incarcerated for minor offenses. These individuals—namely Iftikhar, Ishaq, Khishta Rehman, Sohail Khan, Muhammad Saleem, and Muhammad Shah—were unable to pay their fines due to financial constraints.

The freed individuals expressed their gratitude to Ahsan Bakhtawari for his noble gesture, describing it as a new beginning filled with hope. Superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum lauded the initiative, calling it an exemplary act. He urged other philanthropists to follow in Bakhtawari’s footsteps by contributing to the release of prisoners, enabling them to lead better lives and contribute to their families’ well-being and national progress.

Speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari remarked, “Prisoners convicted of minor offenses often remain in jail due to financial difficulties, which compounds their struggles. To safeguard human rights, all segments of society must work together. The reintegration of such individuals into society, through education and employment opportunities, is the path to building a crime-free society.”

He further appealed to philanthropists to join this mission and play their role in helping those in need, emphasizing that addressing the root causes of crime and supporting rehabilitation efforts are vital for societal harmony and development.
