WNAM REPORT: During a telephone conversation held on December 30, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov cordially congratulated each other and the fraternal people of the two countries on the upcoming 2025, sincerely wishing them health, happiness, well-being, peace, and prosperity.
A thorough exchange of views took place on current issues of further development and strengthening friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
The dynamic growth of mutual trade turnover, enhancing cooperation in energy, transport, industry, agriculture, and water management, intensification of interdepartmental and interregional contacts, business and cultural-humanitarian exchange were noted with great satisfaction.
The President of Uzbekistan emphasized the high-level international events held this year in connection with the wide celebration of the 300th anniversary of the poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi. It was noted that Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan filmmakers shot a feature film. Several joint events were also held.
During the conversation, issues of regional interaction were discussed in the context of preparations for the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia. The leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan also reviewed the schedule of upcoming events.
