WNAM REPORT: Turkmenistan has sent an official invitation to Chinese President Xi Jinping to take part in the International Forum of Peace and Trust, which will be held on December 12, 2025 in Ashgabat, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
Invitations to the top leadership of China were conveyed by Ambassador of Turkmenistan Parakhat Durdyev at a meeting with Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Liu Bin. Letters on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were also sent to Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji.
During the diplomatic meeting, the parties noted the dynamic development of Turkmen-Chinese relations of comprehensive strategic partnership, emphasizing the special importance of contacts at the highest level.
The forum is timed to coincide with two significant events: the proclamation of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust at the initiative of Turkmenistan and the 30th anniversary of the country’s permanent neutrality. Heads of state and heads of international organizations are invited to the event.
Invited participants of the forum include: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, Prince Albert II of Monaco, President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Zeid Al Nahyan and President of Ethiopia Taye Atske-Selassie.
