The President of Uzbekistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan warmly congratulated each other on the upcoming New Year, sincerely wishing peace, well-being, and prosperity to the two fraternal countries and peoples.
The President of Uzbekistan conveyed greetings and best wishes to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Current issues of further developing friendship, good neighborliness, and in-depth strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were discussed. The progress in implementing previously reached agreements, including within the framework of interparliamentary dialogue, was also reviewed.
The parties noted with deep satisfaction the intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation in all priority areas.
The trade turnover is growing. In 2023, it will exceed $1 billion. Trading houses have been opened in the capital cities of Tashkent and Ashgabat, and joint work is underway to create the Shavat-Dashoguz border trade zone.
Cooperation between leading enterprises of the two countries in industry, energy, agriculture, and transport is intensifying, and interregional contacts are expanding. This year, the Intergovernmental Commission and Business Council meetings were successfully held.
Joint events are held within the framework of the cultural and humanitarian program, including Culture Days, tours of creative groups, and others.
Views were also exchanged on essential aspects of regional cooperation in Central Asia. The meeting schedule for 2024 was reviewed.
