WNAM MONITORING: Turkmenistan celebrated the National Spring Holiday – International Nowruz Day – with grandeur. The main festivities are taking place at the traditional Nowruz Yaylasy site in the Ak Bugday district of the Ahal velayat, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan on Friday.
On the occasion of the holiday, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly congratulated his fellow citizens on the National Spring Holiday.
“With historical roots stretching back millennia, Nowruz has become an inseparable part of the life and culture of the peoples of the East. The traditions of Nowruz reflect the uniqueness of each nation and strengthen friendship, unity, peace, and trust among peoples. Nowruz celebrates the renewal and blossoming of nature; it awakens pure feelings, love, beauty, and peace in the hearts of people,” states the message of the head of the state.
People across the country organized festivities, exhibitions, and concerts.
Nowruz is included in UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and marks the arrival of spring and the revival of nature.
