Tashkent ( WNAM MONITORING ): The first meeting of the Termez Dialogue on Connectivity Between Central and South Asia, titled “Building a Common Space of Peace, Friendship, and Prosperity,” will take place from 19 to 21 May 2025, in Termez.
The event is organized by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The international forum will bring together approximately 200 participants from Central and South Asia, Europe, the CIS countries, the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, and the Middle East. These participants will include representatives from political, economic, and business circles, financial institutions, international and regional organizations, as well as prominent experts from analytical and research centers worldwide.
The main goal of the dialogue is to create a multilateral discussion platform for the practical promotion of the United Nations General Assembly resolution “Strengthening Connectivity Between Central and South Asia,” adopted in 2022 at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan.
The forum participants will discuss the current state and prospects of interregional cooperation between Central and South Asia.
The focus will be on strengthening cooperation in ensuring security, stability, and sustainable development, as well as expanding the role of the private sector and financial institutions in fostering economic growth.
Among the main expected outcomes is the adoption of a communiqué calling for the unification of efforts to strengthen trust and cooperation between Central and South Asia.
The Termez Dialogue aims to become a permanent platform for determining the prospects for further advancing interregional connectivity and maintaining peace, security, and stability across the vast Eurasian continent.
The event will be held at the International Trade Center “Termez” in the city of Termez, Surkhandarya region.
