A telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The leaders discussed current issues regarding the further development and strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia. Special attention was given to the practical implementation of high-level agreements, primarily in the trade and economic sphere.
The importance of continuing coordinated efforts and practical interagency cooperation to increase mutual trade volumes, promote industrial cooperation projects in priority sectors of the economy, expand productive regional contacts, and intensify cultural, humanitarian, and educational exchanges was emphasized.
In this context, the need for thorough preparation and ensuring productive outcomes of the second meeting of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia, scheduled for this autumn, was highlighted.
The heads of state also exchanged views on the international agenda and reviewed the schedule of upcoming events.
